I took the reference photo for Evimería in Cyprus before my wedding reception. The pomegranates were picked from trees in Alex’s grandmother’s garden and used in our floral arrangements. The yellow pomegranates were one of my first memories of my husband’s home country, and when I couldn’t speak to his grandmother, we were able to connect with my affection for her fruit trees. They have become a priceless piece of “home” for me. But more than that, they symbolize peace, well-being, health and fertility across many Mediterranean cultures.
The word “Evimería” is Greek for well-being, welfare, or happiness.
